Collectors Choices

Every collector has his favourite item. S&I Media 2021 is looking for collectors of stereoscopic views from across the world who have special stories about one of their items. In case you are one of those collectors, please contact us. We would be pleased to record a 1-minute Zoom video with your story! These videos will be screened in a special event of our conference in June.

Stereo Views Auction

On Saturday (June, 19) S&I Media will host an online auction with a selection of historic stereoscopic views. This will be a special and exclusive event destined to chill out after our talks and where you may find your next favourite item! Please see below what you need to know to participate in this event. 1- If you want to participate in our auction you must register first. The registration will be as easy as possible: just send us an email to stereoimmersivemedia@ulusofona.pt, saying: ‘Join (your Name) to the auction!’ After this you will be able to bid and get your favourite images! 2- This auction will include 25 lots with stereoscopic images (check them below on this page). Each image will be auctioned for only 2 minutes. During that time bids should be posted publicly on the Zoom chat (private messages will not be accepted). Bids must always increase 5€ from the starting price. In other words, only multiple values of 5 will be accepted. Our auctioneer will announce each bid so that everyone can follow. The maximum bid will naturally win! 3- After the auction, we will send the winners’ names to the sellers, stating which images were sold and their final prices. We will also give the winners the sellers’ emails so that the best shipment options and payment method can be agreed. 4- Please note that the prices of the lots do not include shipment costs or custom fees. Payments must be made within 10 days after the auction. After that period, the winning bidder will lose that lot. We ask all bidders to comply with their bids as these images have been generously put aside for this auction by the sellers for a long time. We wish you all a nice time!

Stereo Raisonée

The Carlos Relvas Stereo Raisonné is the comprehensive catalogue of Carlos Relvas’s stereoscopic photography. Carlos Relvas (1838-1894) was the most renowned Portuguese photographer in the 19th century. This catalogue draws on an unprecedented research covering ten public and private collections of stereoscopic photography by Relvas which were, for the first time, digitized, catalogued and cross-referenced with their corresponding negatives. As a digital aggregator of physical collections scattered throughout Portugal and abroad, the Carlos Relvas Stereo Raisonné offers a completely new perspective on the early years of Relvas’s photography and on the contribution of stereoscopy for the launch of his international career. Designed to offer an intuitive and multileveled research, the Carlos Relvas Stereo Raisonné will take you on a journey to hundreds of ‘image families’ combining both negatives and prints, as well as stereoscopic and single-lens photographs. Prepare your anaglyph glasses and join the launch next 18 June at the International Conference on Stereo & Immersive Media!
